While the UFC rocked Brazil on Saturday, Bellator returned to its old San Jose, Calif., stomping grounds for Bellator 154. Check out the video highlights.
The event, which aired on Spike from SAP Center, saw Phil Davis (16-3 MMA, 3-0 BMMA) earn a light-heavyweight title shot with a victory over Muhammed Lawal (19-5 MMA, 8-4 BMMA).
While that strategic fight lacked an abundance of theatrics, some other bouts featured definitive finishes.
For example, Saad Awad (18-7 MMA, 7-3 BMMA) threw – and landed – 62 consecutive blows while on the ground, according to Bellator broadcasters. Evangelista Santos (21-16 MMA, 1-1 BMMA) looked promising early, but he couldn’t overcome that onslaught.
Additionally, Adam Piccolotti (8-0 MMA, 4-0 BMMA) quickly choked out lightweight Ray Wood (7-2, 1-1 BMMA), and welterweight Andre Fialho (8-0 MMA, 3-0 BMMA) rocked Rick Reger (7-3 MMA, 0-1 BMMA).
Check out the highlights above.
